Stanisław Baj was born in 1953 in the village Dolhobrody Polesia. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he graduated with honors. With Academy is related up to now - is the professor and vice-rector. Artist is the author of more than fifty solo exhibitions at home and abroad: Germany, Greece, Russia, Canada, also participated in more than a hundred group exhibitions. Artwork of Stanislaw Baja is primarily two different spheres of painting: portrait and landscape. Portraits of Polish peasants with weather-beaten faces, sharp features, weary, are saturated with psychological observation and reverie. Artist with the master passion in giving a fair "roughly hewn" realism creates a unique image of the Polish peasant who has definitely gone with the whole space of their culture.
