MARCIN Kołpanowicz was born in 1963 in Krakow. Graduated from the Painting Faculty of Fine Arts in Krakow in 1987 at prof. Stanislaus Rodziński and prof. Zbylut Grzywacz. Since then held 17 solo exhibitions and participated in many collective agreements. He practices metaphorical oil painting and pastel. He is also the creator of portraits, book illustrations and posters. His work has graced many collections in Poland, as well as in Austria, Germany, Holland, France and the USA. Images Kołpanowicz "played" on the TVP show Habitat directed by Janusz Majewski. The artist completed the Way of the Cross in the church St. Catherine of Alexandria in Tenczynek near Cracow. It is twice winner of the International Biennial of Pastel in Nowy Sacz, winner of the award in the Padre Pio close to God and man in the John Paul II Institute in Cracow and the Children's Jury Award at the International Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava in 2003.
